Where it began
It started on a rainy day
Founder Matt Grainger set up a roofing business at 20. When the weather stopped work one day, he built a picnic table instead. He sold it, built another, and kept reinvesting every penny while still roofing by day.
One table became two, then ten. Since 2016 MG Timber has grown into a dedicated workshop on Empire Industrial Park in Aldridge, Walsall, with its own delivery team, and the furniture is still built the same way: thicker timber than you expect, built by people who will put their name to it.

Accountability
We source the timber, build the product, pack it, deliver it and answer the phone afterwards. There is no one else to blame, so we get it right.

We do not compete on price alone. We put the money into thicker boards, better fixings and time in the workshop, so the table lasts.

We are not the biggest or the cheapest, and we will not pretend to be. We are open about how we work and what you are buying.
How it is made
From Swedish forest to your garden

Timber
Furniture-grade Swedish redwood, pressure treated against rot and insects before it reaches us.

Cut and built in Walsall
Each piece is cut, drilled and assembled in our own workshop. Rounded corners and engraving are done here too.

Checked and packed
Every order is checked before it is wrapped, with fixings and instructions in the box.

Delivered by us
Most orders go out on our own van, next working day after dispatch, with on-site assembly if you want it.
